How to use Clearblue® Early Digital Pregnancy Test
1. Before you begin
Always read the package insert carefully before testing.
If you’re testing before you expect your period, you must use the first urine of the day, otherwise you can test any time of the day.
Avoid drinking lots of liquid including water, before using your Early Digital Pregnancy Test to make sure you don’t dilute any hormone in your sample.
When ready to test, remove the test stick from the foil wrapper, take off the blue cap and use the test straightaway.
2. Take the test
Simply place just the absorbent tip in your urine stream, or in a urine sample collected in a clean, dry container.
Remove the tip from the urine when the stop light begins to flash (usually after about 5 seconds). The light will continue to flash briefly and then turn off.
Replace the cap and lay the digital pregnancy test stick on a flat surface.
IMPORTANT
Throughout testing never hold the test stick with the absorbent tip pointing upwards.
3. Wait for your result
The Smart Countdown will appear on the display and each segment will appear flashing in sequence to show you the test is progressing and counting down to your result.
4. Read your result
Within 1 – 5 minutes your result will appear in the display window.
A ‘Pregnant’ result will stay on screen for up to 1 month.
A ‘Not Pregnant’ result will be shown on screen for approximately 24 hours.
FAQs
How does Clearblue® Early Digital work?
It detects the pregnancy hormone hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin) in urine.
My test says I’m pregnant. What should I do?
You should see your doctor for advice on your next steps.
My test says I’m not pregnant. What should I do?
You may not be pregnant, or the level of pregnancy hormone may not yet be high enough to be detected. Test again in three days’ time. If this test gives you a ‘Not Pregnant’ result and your period is late, see your doctor.
How early can I test?
You can test 6 days before your missed period, which is 5 days before you expect your period.1
However, as hormone levels vary from woman to woman, and in early pregnancy can be very low, you may be pregnant but still get a negative result.
How accurate is Clearblue® Early Digital?
It is more than 99% accurate in detecting whether or not you are pregnant, when used from the day you expect your period.2
Can any medication or medical conditions affect the result?
Always read the manufacturer’s instructions for any medication you are taking before testing.
Fertility medications containing hCG, and certain rare medical conditions, can cause false positive results.
The test should NOT be affected by other fertility therapies, common painkillers, alcohol, antibiotics, or the contraceptive pill.
If you get any unexpected results, you should discuss them with your doctor.
I previously tested ‘Pregnant’ but have tested again and got a ‘Not Pregnant’ result, or my period has started. What does this mean?
It is possible to get a positive result and later find out you are no longer pregnant. You should see your doctor for advice on your next steps.
